Isadore Banks
An amazing African-American World War I veteran was honored April 08, 2010 in a long overdue ceremony in Arkansas. The vet was named Isadore Banks, one of the wealthiest black landowners in the town of Marion. With his bare hands, Banks helped to not only bring electricity to his entire town in the 1920’s, but he would unselfishly buy school supplies for black schools. The strategic businessman started his own cotton gin business that prevented black farmers to be infiltrated by white farmers.
